Chemical Dependency

This can be categorized as any reliance and resulting tolerance of drugs and/or alcohol. Compulsive and repetitive use of a substance may also categorize this as drug addiction.

Codependency

Codependency is a tendency to behave in overly passive or excessively caretaking ways that negatively impact one's relationships and quality of life. This only refers to caring behavior that enters an excessive to an unhealthy degree.

Opioid Replacement Therapy

Opioid Replacement Therapy is the medical procedure of replacing an illegal opioid drug (like heroin) with a longer-acting but less euphoric opioid. It is also used in cases of prescription drug abuse as well.  Typically, buprenorphine is used under medical supervision. ORT has been shown to be the most effective treatment for improving the health and living condition of patients.

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety is a mood condition that can often occur without an identifiable triggering stimulus. Anxiety-related behavior can be related to uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry. Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity. Depressed people may feel sad, guilty, hopeless, helpless, restless, irritable or worthless. The degrees of depression can very and the effects can be extremely severe.

Dysfunctional Families & Relationships

A dysfunctional relationship can result from conflict, misbehavior, and often abuse on the part of one or more of the individuals. This can occur continually and regularly, leading other members to accommodate such actions. Most of the time, it gets to the point where these behaviors become “comfortable” and are seen as “normal”.
